It’s that time of the year girlfriends and wives hate. It’s football season and the official kick off of the season starts with the release EA Sports Madden Football annual franchise series. With the recent release, EA Sports celebrates 25 years of Madden dubbing the game this year “Madden 25” instead of using the current NFL season year.
This year’s Madden release sees some upgraded features and options by adding owner mode and enhancing the running game, especially while running the pistol offense and read-option plays. Over the past 10 years or so, the Madden franchise was known for its fast-paced game play which mostly consisted of passing and EA Sports attempted to improve the running game, but ran into a few bugs which didn’t translate well into game play.
For the 25th anniversary, developers planned on getting the running game right and adding an overflow of moves. The Precision Modifier unlocks a variation of moves like spins, stiff arms, jukes and other evader moves. All these moves can be performed while pressing the left trigger button to showcase these special moves. The moves will allow players to gain a few extra yards on difficult plays. By adding the running Precision Modifiers and the Read Option running in Madden 25 has become fun again. Some might even say it’s become a bit too easy.
EA has also added Owner Mode, where players can select draft picks, sign free agents and even over charge fans for that large soda they buy on game day. You have the option of selecting current owners or be a former NFL baller who wants to be part of management and take your team to the next level.
Does Madden 25 live up to the hype that surrounds it? Well, when you look at the playing field and Madden Football’s competition, there is none. Madden 25 is the only game in town. Until something better comes along, you have to take the game with the good and the bad.
