Martha Cooper is not reinventing the wheel with her latest exhibit, “Street Shots,” merely diggin’ in the crates. The difference between her and other photogs on the same beat is Martha’s files are DEEP. This show covers 50 years of her work.
Featured are images from legendary graff bible, Subway Art—which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with a deluxe reprint—as well as her five other photography books. Also on view are peeks at her latest title, Going Postal, which focuses on taggers who use postal stickers to lace the city.
“Street Shots” is up through February 13th at LA’s Subliminal Gallery
