Joan Rivers on The Celebrity Apprentice, Lil’ Kim on Dancing With the Stars and Michael Jackson plotting his comeback. Looks like 2009 will be remembered as the year that ailing celebs who’ve been nipped and tucked a few too many times try to re-enter the spot light.
Sure you, could watch Joan and Lil’ Kim on TV for free, but would you pay to see a 50-year-old Michael Jackson moonwalk across the stage and perform his hits?
According to Reuters, Jackson will play a select number of concerts in London’s O2 Arena. The festivities kick of this July. About his comeback, Jackson said:
“These will be my… performances in London. When I say this is it, I mean this is it. I’ll be performing the songs my fans want to hear. This is it, this is really it, this is the final curtain call.”
We’d like to believe that the former King of Pop is really calling it quits, but when he’s putting a 1000% on it by touting these London performances as “the final curtain call,” we’re more inclined to think he’s pulling a Cher.
