Public Enemy Rocks with The Roots

Truth be told, I’ve only seen a few episodes of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, and as it was exactly what I expected it to be. Fallon bombs his opening monologue, smiles nervously to the camera and has the interviewing skills of semi-retarded house cat.*

*Although Mary HK Choi claims that a cat of such intellect is too charming for Fallon.

The show’s one saving grace however has the been its house band, The Roots. The crew has managed to make ice cold lemonade out of the lemons that Fallon tosses out on a nightly basis. And last night was no exception. Flanking musical guest Public Enemy as the backing band, The Roots delivered a lively rendition of “Bring The Noise.” Black Thought even came in to drop a verse.

But it’s not the first time that PE’s pulled off some sick collaborations. Check out these other musical team-works.

    “Bring the Noise” feat. Anthrax

“Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos” w/ Rage Against the Machine

“He Got Game” feat. Stephen Stills

“Soul Power (Black Jungle)” Wu-Tang Clan feat. Flava Flav

“Machine Gun” Portishead featuring Chuck D.
