Check out an exclusive video clip from The Spirit DVD, due in stores next Tuesday.Few actors play crazy bad guys better than Samuel L. Jackson and his role in Frank Miller’s The Spirit may be the craziest bad guy he’s ever played. The Pulp Fiction star takes on the mantle of The Octopus, the sworn nemesis of the titular hero. Both men are super-strong and near-invulnerable, which means they can whale on each other for days without passing out from exhaustion. Like the film versions of Miller’s comics Sin City and 300, The Spirit was shot extensively on green screen, which allowed Miller (who made his solo directing debut on this movie) to add all sorts of neat visual flourishes in the editing room. The Spirit arrives on DVD next Tuesday in a 2-disc edition with lots of bonus features, including a featurette devoted to the green screen shooting process. Here’s an exclusive clip from this doc that features Jackson talking about what its like to shoot a movie surrounded by giant green screens.
