Top Four Celebrity TMI Moments

As of late, celebs have become more intimate with social media outlets, such as Twitter and Youtube, using them as marketing tools for themselves and a way to become more personal with their fans, but when does the line between TMI and publicity whoring get crossed? With Stephon Marbury’s 24-hour Ustream of madness and Bow Wow’s impromptu passion photos being posted, this week GIANT reads between the lines of celeb publicity to find the real deep-rooted issue. Is this more personal side hurting their image and making them too accessible? Check out the verdict after the jump…

    Neyo’s Breakdown

Though the emotional singer claims he could not continue his performance in Manchester due to physical pain and illness, it looks as if he was going through a war mentally instead. Signs point to either a lovers quarrel that he couldn’t handle any longer or that he was still mourning Michael Jackson’s death. We all know what a sinus infection feels like but does it really warrant an emotional breakdown on stage in front of thousands of people?

Verdict: Definitely not a good look on Neyo’s part. Maybe if he said he was still broken up over Michael’s death or a break up, but a sinus infection? Come with a better excuse next time. We all know that men do cry but a breakdown on stage isn’t what we consider getting in touch with your feminine side.

    Stephon Marbury Youtube Tirade

The weird thing about his videotaped episode, other than the fact he was eating Vaseline and sobbing as if someone stole his bike, was that it looked as if it was planned. Bumping R&B beforehand, then hitting us with a gospel throwback such as “Lean On Me” by Kirk Franklin for sympathy is kind of a low blow. And his friend lending him that leaning shoulder and assisting with background vocals just proves it’s a production. Instead Marbury’s Ustream should be seen as acting gone wrong.

Verdict: It’s hard to tell if his crying is real or for show. We see the tears, but don’t feel the pain. They are tears due to lack of funds more than sorrow, if anything. Next time choose a legit emotionally-involved gospel melody if your crying for public sympathy. Unless he wants to promote his acting skills for agents, it’s not a good look.

    Bow Wow’s Depression and Intimacy

After tweeting about being depressed in the industry and his lack of excitement for the future, the former Mr. 106 & Park posted pics via twitter just to prove that he still has it with the ladies. Despite his height deficiency, we all agree that Bow Wow doesn’t have any trouble with groupie love. So why the pictures?

Verdict: The pics are completely inappropriate and are a cry for attention. Since preteens and horny sex deranged adults are his prominent audience, why would he post pics of himself intimate with other people?  What is the point of driving away your only fans? His rants and tweets are excuseable but he doesn’t get pass go on this one.

    Soulja Boy Shows ‘Em

    soulja1

Mr. Overexposed himself has given the public more than enough of their share of him via the net: smoking illegal substances, ranting about his stardom and now a close up on his package cut body.

Verdict: If he thought he would get more followers or fans from his size 6-pack, he overestimated his buzz. Other than his constant attempt to try and prove his manhood this youngster needs more of a good hug and a real growing up experience to cure his alleged problems.
