Sony unveiled its much talked about next-generation console, the Playstation 4 yesterday in NYC. If you’re unaware, this is Sony’s newest console since it released the PS3 way back in 2007. Sony’s first 3 consoles combined to sell more than 300 million units worldwide, so the gaming world has huge expectations for its 4th-generation gaming system.
This week, Sony gave the crowd everything they need to know, everything from its newest controller, games and newest specs. The only aspect that’s still in the dark for the PS4 is the actual release date. Sony says the next-generation console should be in stores before the 2013 holiday season so start saving those ducats.
Sony announced the new PS4 controller which will be dubbed the DualShock 4, which will feature a touchpad, headphone jack, lightbar and a vshare button. The newest feature to hit Sony’s PS4 is the lightbar which will track the depth of a room for gaming — think Nintendo’s Wii console — and syncs with the console’s onboard camera.
