Welcome to another episode of Smokey’s Hotlist. This week, we’re talking about my absolute favorite topic: iPad Music Apps. When I’m not at my day job, I get busy on the 1s and 2s. Take a look at my top five music apps.
5-Garageband: Price $4.99
Whether you’re the next Beethoven or just a novice, if you want to make music, Garageband is for you! With bluetooth capability, this app allows you to have a jam session with your friends or simply learn how to play an instrument. Instead of going to a studio, this app brings the studio to you.
4-DM1 -The Drum Machine: Price $4.99
I’ve always wanted to play the drums. When I was a kid, I had a neighbor who would tear up the skins but my mother never let me play. Now, DM1 can make my dream a reality. For only $4.99, you can have the perfect mix of a powerful percussion with a bevy of beats. You can’t beat that.
3-Black Planet Radio: Price Free
Full disclosure, I’m the Chief Content Officer of Interactive One. So I’m pleased to mention our Black Planet Radio app. Whatever mood you’re in, our app has got you covered. Black Planet Radio allows you to be your own DJ and customize your playlist. And you know what makes this sweeter? It’s free of charge.
2-Soundhound: Price $6.99
Have you ever had the lyrics to a song stuck in your head, but you don’t know the name of the song? Me too! Now, those days are a thing of the past. With Soundhound, you can sing the lyrics to the song and boom! They find the song for you. Soundhound also showcases new artists and real-time Facebook and Twitter updates from your favorite musicians.
1-DJay: Price $19.99
This is the most expensive app on the list, but it’s worth it. Djay by Algoriddim turns your iPad into a full-fledged DJing system. With DJay, you can mix your music library on a realistic turntable interface, perform live and even record mixes on the go. It gets no better than this.
These were just my favorite apps. I’m sure I missed a few. Tweet me your favorites @Smokey. Hey, maybe you can put me onto something new.
