Neither Motorola or Google has formally announced their X Phone, but the smartphone has in been the works and talks for sometime now. The long awaited smartphone may be hitting store shelves and your pockets this summer … but are you ready for another flagship smartphone?
Last week Samsung announced the follow up to their successful Galaxy S3 and revealed the Galaxy S4. The smartphone received mixed reviews from fans of the S3 and iPhone.
The smartphone market is already packed with so many devices now, is there room for another? The answer: maybe.
If the rumors are true Motorola and Google may create a niche market for themselves by allowing users to create their own phone. If true, the X Phone would create some interest for consumers who want a one-of-one device. There are no official images of the device yet. And an unnamed photo was leaked last week but Motorola’s PR team quickly replied saying the device is not the X Phone. Other sources say that could be the real thing.
So, the question again: is there room in the world for yet another flagship smartphone? Something reportedly around the lines of $199, with Android’s latest OS, no contract, and delivered with your own custom configuration? With those options, the answer is “yes.”
