The legendary entertainer Eartha Kitt died, December 25, 2008 at 81. Kitt was most well known for being ahead of her time. With her sexy, sultry and provocative performances, Kitt was also known for her sharp tongue and witt. The self described “sex kitten” redefined the role of Cat Woman on the ’60s TV series “Batman.” She also played Lady Eloise in 2000’s “Boomerang” opposite Eddie Murphy. As a singer with her purring sounds and rolling tongue, she performed cabaret, most notably at the Cafe Caryle in New York City wowing the audience with “I Want To Be Evil” and “Santa Baby.” A revolutionary who broke racial and sexual barriers, the very liberated Kitt helped move African American women into the modern world. The marvel lead the way for current performers like Beyonce, Lil’ Kim, Rhianna and Halle Berry. Kitt was a true GIANT. Our condolences go out to Kitt’s family and friends. Rest in peace.
